Dennis R. “Uncle Denny” Love, 78, Altoona, died Thursday morning at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Emanuel and Margarite (Glunt) Love. On Dec. 13, 1966, he married Carol Moses in Frederick, Va., and she preceded him in death on Nov. 3, 2012.
Surviving are three siblings: Marilyn Bair, Donald and Terrie Pluechel; many nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law: Gary and Donald Moses.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Margarite Anderson, John, Helen Jean Serafin and Ricke.
Denny was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He retired from the maintenance department of Penn Jacobson, Altoona. He enjoyed taking long rides on his bicycle.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at the church, with Dr. Jeffrey A. Hite, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
The family suggests that contributions in Denny’s memory be made to Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church, 524 24th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601, earmarked for the church missions.
