Memorial Page

James R Salmond

I received this beautiful note from Judith Salmond wife of James R Salmond:

It is with great sadness that I write to you and tell you that my husbnad James R Salmond passed away on April 17, 2016 after a gallant battle with Glioblastoma.

Jim often spoke of his wonderful times and friends at Altoona High School.  We always had to drive by the high school on our return trips to Altoona.  Those years remained some of his fondest memories.

I wish you and the other memvers of your class a most memorable reunion.  Sincerely, Judith L Salmond.

So with a heavy heart I am adding another classmate to our memoiral page.  RIP  Jim

I am very sad to hear this.  Jim was a great guy.  We had a number of classes together and I appreciated his intelligence and humor.  What a sorrowful end to the year for his family.  Nanette Anslinger

Wow.  Another classmate from Pleasant Valley Elementary and a teammate on the Sixth Ward baseball team is gone.  So sad.  We were close from first grade through graduation.  Of course my prayers and thoughts go to Jim's family.

I was sad to read off Jim Salmond's passing last April.  My earliest memories of Jim are from Pleasant Valley Elementary.  In First grade we kissed in the coat room.  Jim later took my purple crayon, so I promptly tattled om him to Miiss Cook, our teacher.  Needless to say, we never kissed agaan - in the coat room or anywhere else!  Funny the things we remember!  My deep symphony to his wife and family. I'm very sad to hear about Jim's passing.  I remember him as such a nice person with a great smile at Pl. Valley Elementary and through highschool. Our class is losing people way too quickly. Seems as though I am pulling out our yearbook more and more frequently looking at young familiar faces that I will miss seeing again.
