William L. Rouzer

April 9, 1942 – April 19, 2019

William L. Rouzer, 77, Altoona, died Friday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of William C. and Juanita (Woodring) Rouzer. On Aug. 6, 2019, he married Judith M. (McClellan) Pannebaker Rouzer.

Surviving are his wife of Altoona; a son, Brett Rouzer (Carol) of Fredericks­burg, Va.; a daughter, Reagan Arnold (T.J.) in Virginia; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren: Lesa Gold of Altoona and Jaysen Gold (Hillary) in Tennessee; and two sisters: Sandy Young of Altoona and Jane Feidor of Pittsburgh.

He was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a driver for Ward Trucking for many years.

William always enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Tyler Pepper officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona. Military honors will be performed by the Tyrone Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602 or to an animal rescue of choice in memory of Bill and his favorite dogs, Ceasar and Beka.

It is always hard to put up the classmates to our website.  This time extra hard there was one one April 18 and one of April 19.  RIP Bill.

I remember Bill as a gentle giant, quiet big guy with a great smile. We went to Fairview together but didn't connect much after that. I think he played center on the football team.

Bill was a neighbor as well as a classmate. Someone mentioned gentle giant and that  was a true comment. Always enjoyed being around Bill.

So sorry to here of Bill's passing. He was a neighbor on 23rd Ave. We went to Fairview School, Keith Jr. H. S. and AHS together. I too would agree with Phil that Bill was a gentle giant. Condolences to the family.
