Lawrence E. "Larry" Hight, 74, Altoona, died Wednesday at his residence after a brief illness of pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Leroy and Bessie N. (Cowher) Hight. On May 27, 1967, he married Phyllis J. Hufford in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife of Altoona; a son, Lynn E. Hight of Altoona; daughter: Linda J. Cook, of Salisbury, Md.; and two grandchildren: Jacob Michael and McKenna J. Cook.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Hight.
Lawrence was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1960-64. In 2005, he retired from Penelec as a layout technician in the engineering department after 35 years of service. He attended Faith Baptist Church, Altoona, and was a past president of Your Choice Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a service will be held at 4 p.m. in the memorial chapel, Pastors Gary Dull and John Pine officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Larry can be directed to Faith Baptist Church, 315 40th St., Altoona, PA 16602.

Sorry to hear another one of your classmates has left this life--you are a good group of people and so hope I get to meet some of you later this Fall/Winter. I wish Bill had been able to get to the reunion the year he died, 2010, he so looked forward to seeing his classmates again.
