Ann and I met Dick the first day of seventh grade at Roosevelt Jr. High and we became serious friends-many similar activities and we continued that friendship for life.  We spent time with Dick and June in Williamsburg just last August, not knowing it would be our last visit.  Dick and I shared performing in bands, dance bands and playing baseball.  We also shared a love of model railroading.  Dick's passing is a tremendous loss for us and, of course, for many of his other friends and for his family.  Rest in Peace, my friend.

Rita and I were shocked to hear about Dick's passing. We extend our deepest sympathies to June and the family. I have many fond memories of spending time at Dick's home along Logan Blvd. playing cards or watching Dick operate his trains. Then there were the road trips to Pittsbugh to watch the Pirates play at Forbes Field. Rest in peace dear friend.

Dick's passing has left me deeply saddened.  Dick was one of the first friends I made at Baker School when I moved to Altoona in the middle of fifth grade.  This was in large part because we shared two interests/activities which bound us through high school graduation and even beyond.  While Dick had already developed his classic Southpaw delivery, I was a fledgling catcher, and the catches we shared from the beginning led to us being battery mates in many a game both for AAHS and 14th Ward.  Dick and I also both played the clarinet, and in our junior and senior years sat first and second chair in the outstanding AAHS band and even alternated as clarinet soloists in the annual band concerts.  Dick was a genuinely good and kind person and I have only the fondest memories of him (even though he had to rub that Mazeroski home run in to this Yankee fan).  I extend my condolences to June and Dick's entire family.

Very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was the North end of our neighborhood and I remember batting against him in sandlot baseball...much too fast a pitcher for me!
I also remember seeing his diesel Lionel engine and train set. I also had a Lionel train set at the South end of the neighborhood. And I was the 3rd clarinet, so we all enjoyed Mr. Monti's band!

R.I.P.....my friend.

Always sorry to hear about the passing of another classmate.  I didn't know Dick well having grown up in Fairview on the other side of town but I did play in the clarinet section with him in the band at AHS though a few seats removed from first chair.  My condolances to his family.
