David L. Gilson, 73, of Muncy, Pa., passed away at home Saturday, January 11, 2014.

He was born in Williamsport, Pa., on March 5, 1940, the son of Harold M. and Dorothy M. Crouse Gilson.

David retired after 27 years with Bethlehem Steel both here and in Indiana. He enjoyed fly-fishing and hunting in his younger years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed studying many topics including; genealogy, archaeology, astrology, and gemology. He also enjoyed sightseeing.

He served in the PA Air National Guard as a radar operator in Germany.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Wendy J. (Barry) Walter and Cindy J. (Paul) Young, all of Loyalsock Township; grandchildren, Brady (Samantha) Walter, Laura Walter (Brett Wheeland), Megan Young, Mackenzie Young; and longtime friend, Donna Rockey, of Montoursville.

In addition to his parents, a daughter, Tammy Jo Gilson; grandson, Linn Gabrielle Walter; and a sister, Maxine M. McQuillen, all preceded him in death.

The family will receive family and friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Wagner-Pizza officiating. The family will provide the flowers.
