I am saddened to hear of John's passing. I have known John since grade school. His family moved across the street from us when i when I was in college so I was able to maintain some contact with him after high school. His was a diligent philanthropist and gave many hours to his projects and will clearly be missed by all who knew him and all who benefited from his hard work.

Because the weather has stayed so unusually warm, the gardening season was lengthened, thus requiring more maintenance and processing of the food than one usually has to provide this time of year.
