Dale F. Evans

Nov. 16, 1942 - Sept. 17, 2018

Dale F. Evans, 76, Tyrone, passed away Monday evening at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Fairmont, W.Va., son of the late Floyd and Helen B. (O’Donnell) Evans. On March 1, 1969, he married the former Sheila K. Smith in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Damon P. Evans and wife, Julie, of Hollidaysburg; and a granddaughter, Lily Evans.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Faye M. Eichelberger.

Dale was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Penn State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1960-66. He worked for Bell of PA from 1967-82, then worked for AT&T, where he was a technical consultant, until his retirement.

Dale was a member of Logan Lodge No. 490 F&AM, the Altoona Scottish Rite, the al-Aksa Chapter Order of DeMoay and the Jaffa Shrine, where he was a past member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. and the Greeters.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville, immediately followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. officiated by Pastor Tyler Pepper. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

We have lost another classmate. Dale Evans.  His name alone reminds us of our past.  A very popular TV Show when we were young.  I remember buying printed T-Shirt from him many years ago.  I also knew  his sister (Faye) through working at the hospital and Eastern Star.  Dale was also in the same lodge as my  husband.
