Clarence Edward “Ed” Decker, 82, of Altoona, died Thursday at his residence. He was born in Petersburg, son of the late Clarence Eugene and Irma Jean (Shipton) Decker.

He married Reba Ellen Duchman on June 13, 1964, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife, Reba; two sons, Curt (Heather) Decker and Wade (Petra) Decker; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Gilley.

Ed was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1960. He served in the Navy and was on USS Independence during the Cuban Crisis.

He retired in 2001 as an Assembler-Tester from F.L. Smithe Machine Co. after 36 years of service. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Ed enjoyed music, especially bluegrass, and played guitar since he was 13.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private entombment will take place at Blair Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
