I remember Phyllis from sunday school when we both went to Grace Church on 8th ave. and 23rd street. I hadn't seen her in years and coincidently was thinking and wondering about her just this week. We played together often as children with her sister Cora. We did have fun and as we grew up continued to be involved in the church and the "Girl's Guild" led by one of the women from the church. Over the years we went our separate ways and saw each other only by chance. I am sorry we lost touch.
Phyllis was my cousin and I spoke to her about a month ago. We lived just blocks apart as children. We had not seen each other for years, and I only recently learned of her sister Cora's death as well. Life was not easy for her in the latter years. She had a very successful nursing career and leaves behind a daughter and two grandchildren.
