William Birely

Adding this classmate to the memory is very sad.  He was a good friend to both  Randy Schoch and I all during junior and senior high school.  I can remember many events that we were together.

William C. Birely Sr.

William C. Birely Sr., 74, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Betty (Vipond) Birely. He married Linda L. Hale on July 7, 1967, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years; two daughters: Barbara and Susan; a son, William C. Jr.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, John and wife, Gabrielle.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tiffany Park; and a sister, Diane Kaczmarek.

Bill was a fork lift operator, employed by Fleming Foods, with 31 years of service. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960-64.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Linda, his children and grandchildren and those who knew and loved him.

Bill was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society, where he enjoyed bowling with his friends, including an especially good friend, Roy Bookhammer.

At the request of the deceased there will be no service. Private interment will be at New Canoe Creek Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. Arrangements are by Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona.
