Frederick T. Auker

Jan. 22, 1942 – Sept. 27, 2015 |      

Frederick T. Auker, 73, Altoona, passed away Sunday at home.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry and Iola (White) Auker. He and his wife, Gloria (Lostaglia), observed their 47th wedding anniversary this year.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three children: Kim (Auker) Neff of Altoona, David Auker and wife, Michelle (Forlina), of Altoona and Linda Auker and husband, Jason Signore, of Potsdam, N.Y.; five grandchildren: Stevey, Justin, Dylan, Madison and Zoe; two brothers: Donald and wife, Janet, of State College and George and wife, Annlee, of Altoona; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Marian Auker.

Fred was a graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Meredith. He was a machinist for SKF Industries and drove a tractor-trailer for R.J. Glass. He enjoyed fishing, billiards and RV camping.

Friends will be received from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Chaplain Klavens Noel officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fred's memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (lls.org) or the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society (central

Sorry to add another name to our memory board.   I had the pleasure of working with Fred at SKF.  Thoughts and prayers to his wife and family.

Five days after graduating from AHS, two freinds boarded a train and headed for the Navy Boot camp at Great Lakes Ill. Freddy and myself. He was a good friend through high school.
